Frog Bogs

From Drop Box

Just another quick post tonight before bed ... I took this on my nightly trail walk with my dog after work. A storm had just passed, and the sun popped out to light up this small marsh perfectly. Amazingly, it is right across the street from where I live. No matter how tired I am, this is my favorite time of the day. We never miss it, unless it's dark already.

My Milk Duds Seem so Far Away

far away milk duds in space candy

Saturday

... all my milk duds seem so far away
I sent a secret message anyway
oh i believe
in milky ways

where did the milk duds go?
I don't know
they wouldn't say
I said - something wrong
Now I work
On Saturday ay ay aye

Speedcat interview

Wendster ... traveling reporter

interviews the beloved and resourceful .... SPEEDCAT HOLLYDALE (crowds go wild! Aaauuhhhhhhhh!!!!)

QUESTION NUMBER ONE: When did you first realize that you possessed the power of flight?

As a small child, relatives would come over and throw me up in the air, then forget about me. I had to learn in a hurry. This also earned me the name of lil Speedy.

QUESTION NUMBER TWO: How did you find out that Mardy had a side business going on as a fashion designer for budgies and cockatiels?

I would get home from work, and there he was, in a pile of dog toys and hickory flavored rawhide sticks. At first, I figured he was just stealing from the neighbor's poodle, which I never liked anyway. My lightbulb "lit" when I saw him drive by in a small electric turtle car.

Mardy's uber cool turtle car.

QUESTION NUMBER THREE: Do you find that it is useful to have the world’s longest pinky toes?

No ... and many women have left the pool area in shock after gazing upon them.

QUESTION NUMBER FOUR: Golf. The world’s greatest sport, or just an aphrodisiac?

A little of both. After a really hot round I feel like procreating with all kinds of stuff.

QUESTION NUMBER FIVE: In your opinion, what is the world’s most perfect food?

ohhh, that's easy! Chicken of course. You can make anything with chicken, even furniture

QUESTION NUMBER FIVE: Aside from golf golf golf and blogging … your favorite activity?

Well, you did hit the two "hot buttons". You know a hot button because it's hot. I would have to go with "buffet show downs" ... one man, unlimited food, and no clean up. You have never been out until you have buffeted with me. I coined that term while eating at the world's largest buffet in Hong Kong last summer

QUESTION NUMBER SIX: Blondes, brunettes, raven hairs, or redheads?? Or perhaappppsss … the little ladies with the blue hair?

I'm not choosy. Mostly I want a woman with less hair on her back than I have. Second, I look at the nose. I like them big.

QUESTION NUMBER SEVEN: The best movie you’ve seen recently?

I liked Crazy Heart, not only because it was a great story of overcoming addiction, it also had some fantastic live music. I stood up in the middle of the film and yelled out happy expletives.

QUESTION NUMBER EIGHT: Future plans … what are yours? Or in other words … the “WH”’s of ten years from now. (Where will you be? WHo will you be with? What when why which whilly whonka … you get the idea.)

I have not yet figured out what I will do tomorrow, but as an educated guess, I see myself in the country somewhere teaching golf at a little town Country Club, and married to a woman as scatter brained and easy going as myself. I truly believe the one thing I do not like is stress. What may seem exciting to others is like blah blah blah to noisy for me. I like decks, and wind.

QUESTION NUMBER NINE: Chicken. Baked? Fried? BBQ’d? Or wild and free?

I throw mine in corning-ware, then dump a bunch of stuff on top. When it comes out of the oven, you simply dump it all out on a big deep plate and eat. The best chicken I ever had was with Juice Newton before she married that turd of a husband she drags all over town. She called it Catch a Torry Pine Chicken, and no ... no recipe from her.

QUESTION NUMBER TEN: What rhymes with “chocolate”?

Brian Kownacki Home Plate Jump

College baseball player Brian Kownacki is an early contender for the baseball play of the year with this freakishly high, and successful leap turned handspring over Iona catcher James Beck on Tuesday. The soaring Superman play wasn't just for show, either. It was part of a nine-run rally in the eighth inning that helped Fordham overcome an early 9-1 deficit en route to a 12-9 win.

Playing Around with Picasa

Something new I am going to try, as Twitpic has become difficult to pull from RSS feed. As I post this, the slideshow will just have one photo, then as I take pictures on the go, they will be added to this Picasa slide show. Yes, this post is a bit of a test, and possible a stepping stone to other uses.

Bra Used in Massive Attack

Early reports of a new attack on Canada have come in. These are some photos obtained by the Hollydale International News Headquarters.

massive bra shooting treats into the sky at high velocity

launch map lunch map MORE ON THIS BREAKING NEWS STORY WILL BE UPDATED IN THE NEXT HOUR ....................

Hi Robert ... sorry about the giant hole in your roof, but you had it coming. My whole yard is dead from the jelly filling of your attack on Hollydale! UPDATE: News just in @ 2100 hrs .... Robert has been hit! It seems that "one" donut has reached the desired target. NORAD has concluded that the second donut has trailed off course due to a jelly leak, and landed somewhere in zone #11. More information as to the crash site where-abouts coming in minutes .....

UPDATE 2 : Touchdown in California! New footage from Wendy Winderella's garden has just been obtained. Damage was very minimal, as she was outside "getting some sun" as the donut approached. With no lunch yet, she caught the pastry in her mouth .... then ate it. Wendy was quoted as saying, "I think all of the rainbow sprinkles fell off in sub-space .... I was very disappointed!" ~ Neighbors claim she was gardening "Nekkid" although this has not been confirmed.

Jay Leno and the Magic Chicken

jay leno tonight show magic chicken 2004
Back in 2004, I was working at NBC as a project coordinator and research staffer for the Tonight Show. The job was one big ball of stress and left me with absolutely no time for my personal life. You can probably guess I did not last long there, and returned to my home city of Hollydale. People have often asked me about my time in Burbank California where I had my small condo, and ask if there was anything exciting, bob hope airportor interesting that happened. My answer is no, with the exception of my personal "favorite show". The last guest was Martha Hefenster, and she brought her "Magic Chicken" from Ohio. I found her while reading local headlines, and convinced Leno to invite her on the show. She was a huge hit, and people talked about that episode for weeks. Me? I quit a month later, and left everything in my office BUT this photo. It was a magic night, with a magic chicken.

Golf Paintings & Chihuahuas

Worlds smallest Chihuahua Mardy
Where has my blog gone? Good question ... seems I just don't publish much anymore, and I have not been commenting at other blogs on a regular basis. One reason is mobile web, and the vast arena of what you can do and then interact with others live in other forms of social media. You can take pictures, upload them from anywhere, and chat with people all across the globe as you walk down a country trail or while playing golf. Don't get me wrong, I love the creative part of a blog, but it is a time consuming process, and one that just does not reach as many people as it used to. I also think spring brings with it so many other activities that are outdoors. Many nights I get home planning on blogging, then just end up yacking it up for a while at Facebook. In any case, quiting this blogging thing is not going to happen, but at the moment my motivation just is not there. Am I taking a break? I don't know - but maybe that's what would be best. The one real downside to that is not keeping in touch with the wonderful people out there that have become friends, and loyal visitors here, but in all truth I chat with other bloggers more now everywhere else. Sandee is the one exception. Hi Sandee !!
My life you ask ?? It has been really nice actually. I think when I was younger it would be a bit on the boring side, but right now low stress / low key fits perfectly. I work, I play golf, I walk with my dog, I visit family, I watch movies, and for the first time in my life, am able to do whatever I want with any given day. Ohhh, and yes, I still fart around with photos. I made this a few nights ago while sitting out on the deck.

Nike Dymo STR8 Fit Driver & 18 Fairways

Nike Dymo STR8 Fit Driver
After a long bitterly cold winter in the Midwest, doing anything outside again without 5 layers of clothes and a jacket is like some kind of therapeutic, serotonin inducing nirvana.
Add a new golf club [ a driver ] , an open golf course, and you have what is in my own mind the best day possible on this planet.

I played golf for the first time this year on Monday, March 29th. Temperatures were in the low 70's which is freaky warm for this time of year. While the course was still very yellow, and had taken quite a beating from winter, it was dry enough to take carts out. When I post about golf, I can never find the right words to describe what goes through my mind, or just how much I love it ... all aspects of the game. While playing, I never notice if I am tired, I never notice if something hurts, I never feel stress of any kind, and it seems like visiting heaven. I'm sure that sounds strange to people that do not share my love and passion for the game, but to me it is just that powerful. I feel at home on a golf course, like it has something to do with destiny. Everyone has their own comfort zone - to some people it's home, to others it may be a church, even work in some instances. I just happen to belong at the golf course.
