Old House Sinking

Old House Sinking
As whispers of night and darkness loom black against a blanket of stars, what light remains becomes a glowing entity of it's own. What we see is often over shadowed by the contrasts and hues in the fields of vision.
Is what we perceive a reality or a blended conglomeration of past and present? To paint a portrait on canvas is a creation in the mind. As human nature interacts with surroundings, the outline is blurred by personal priority and judgement. Only as the slate of cognitive filtering is removed ... can true colors await.
The view from the window is never quite as interesting as an open door to possibility.

Very nice, Speedy. Cool photo, and I like the words you chose to express your feelings about it.

I always enjoy it when you wear your philosopher/poet Speedycat hat. :)

I like the illumination fo the house and then the vibrant colors in the night sky. It looks like a spirit both inside the home and outside.

You know, when you take a photo of something, you're preserving a snapshot of how it appears at a moment of time.

But, when you paint something, you're preserving in a snapshot how it looks over a period of time, whether it's minutes, hours or days (depending on how fast you can paint).

Just something to think about...

Yes .... two thumbs way up.

I loved the way you stated it, and it prompts me to share a similar thought process I have been deeply pondering for many moons: "Blindness" Can we really SEE anything? Ourselves? The people around us? Events? Places? It seems to me that they will always be altered by the filters of our belief systems, our opinions, our willingness to accept truth ... do we ever REALLY see ANYTHING as it is?

To truly "see" ... that would be a beautiful thing.
