"Follow" with Google Friend Connect is Causing Problems!
Many have found that loading a blog with this widget are getting a "ABORT" cannot load page message when surfing with the Internet Explorer Browser. Not all blogs are affected though ... WHY? Because it causes the widgets that follow it to load incorrectly. Internet Explorer loads from point A to point B (start to finish) unlike Firefox and Apple browsers, so one hiccup can be doomsday.
If you have the Google Friend Connect widget, try moving it to the end of your blog, meaning the footer. VERY LAST. This way, you will not loose your followers, and you will be able to move it back to your sidebar once Blogger fixes the problem.
Case solved ... or sol-ved like the Pink Panther would say.
"Before you comment that internet explorer sucks, and that you do not use it, remember that many still do. If half of the users coming to your blog are having problems, that is a BIG problem".

Thanks for the help! I was getting comments that my blog wouldn't load, but I didn't know about it since I use Firefox. Moving the Google Friends worked! You're the greatest!

Nice info..have heard other bloggers having trouble with that, but I never thought about how my page loads on other browsers. I just have a little mousie that is causing me problems...maybe it needs a DOCTAH!!!

This is exactly why I am using Firefox. And have been for the last 9 months. No problems here! Just one glitch back in February. But all is well now!

Thanks for the information about the bug with Followers ... I've stuck them down at the foot of my page, as suggested, and VOILA, problem solved !!
I'me going to direct my readers to this post as there are quite a few that either don't open or only open after reloading a few time..

Thanks Speedy for this info. I had this problem last week. I wondered what had caused the problem. I prefer using IE mainly because its what I'm used to. I think they must have fixed it because I havent seen anymore problems with it since the weekend.
STILL broke ... this is a very erratic problem and does not happen all the time.

Oh My God! It was that simple. I have been getting that frickin' abort message for weeks but since I use firefox...it really didn't matter. But like you said some people still use IE. Removing that one widget cleared the entire problem up. Thanks so much. SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR SITE!!!
