This photo is from 4 years ago ... one calm summer night. As the balloon attempted to land on the fairway, I was playing the hole the precedes it. While I was on the green after hitting a nine iron, the pilot over-shot his target and crashed into a hill just behind a house, nearly missing their deck. People were all over the place, including all the employees at the golf course. As all this was going on, I did get my par 3 with a two putt, and hit a bomb of a drive on the next hole. Who says you need "Calm and Quiet" to play golf?

Ha, perhaps you just needed a good chuckle to relax and draw out all that golf prowess. Also....is that a yellow ball I see??
True story, right?
Hey ... check out that sexy calf. Damn I've missed your blog, LOL!
Drowsey ... ha haaaaa! Yes, I do embellish a bit do I not??
This story IS true in every word though. As I was putting I could almost reach out and touch the basket. Really strange - probably a moment in my life that will always be a vivid memory ;-)
Bryan - Yep! It is a yellow ball. I take a LOT of heat for using them ... "Colonel Mustard" "banana balls" etc etc
I seem to have a LUCKY NICKLE type of thing going on with them, and never wonder if I am playing the wrong ball. I am also non conformist by nature, so for me it is not all that strange.
Thanks for stopping by !!!
Where's the yellow? :) I like the balloon and the story that goes with it.
looks like your teeing up to sink one in the balloon, now that would have been a shot :D Cheryl
Ponderer: That though DID cross my mind (((smile)))
Pacey .... It's there if you look hard enough ;-)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE That Photo.
Thanks Meleah!
I was not really happy with any of the new photos lately, so I browsed my Picasa albums. Good cats do I have a lot of photos - literally thousands. This one is one of my favs too ;-)
it's been a while since I hit the greens, my husband taught me and i beat him the first time we played! no rematche happen evensince :D
Willa ... really? That is very impressive as golf is not easy to learn! I have put in tens of thousands of hours playing / practicing. I love to hit golf balls, and would all day every day if I could.
Uncle Dude!
You've got awesome legs! ROWR!!!!
Well, I was ready to comment and saw Crazed Mom's comment and had to go back and I got distracted - I'll just a great post with a wonderful yellow balloon! :)
BTW - thank you for your wonderful comment last week on my photo blog.
That's some shot... in more ways than one I suppose. :-D
Haha, I can't fault you for using yellow balls. I once had to use a pink one that looked like spherical pepto-bismal since I ran out of the white. Next hole...140 yard par 3 over water...birdie!
The image is like an educational ad. A lot of novice golfer with some embedded memory
Like the balloon :)
Hey :) Just dropping by to say thanks for the comment you left.
Now here's an unusual scene. How fortuned you have a pic of it. Who would believe if you just tell the story? Not many. And conviently nice yellows on the balloon. Happy MYM!
Nice picture. I went up in a hot air balloon once. It was fun.
Thanks for the funny comment! ;-)
I didn't realise golf could be so fun!
This picture should be in a Golf magazine. It's wonderful!
Hot Legs!!!!!
xoxo
Nice legs are they yours or photo shop?
Dude I just finally figured out how to add you to my NewGator. Retarded I know that is what make me so special. :)
DEBO !!!
You know ... I still do not have the actual photoshop software, but have learned a few tricks. I must be getting better when all my photos are questioned - HA HAAAA !!
This one is not altered except for the border and Mellow Yellow text.
WHAT is a NEW Gator????
Olga .... Nice strap and cuppie !!
Thanks Mimi! .... (I like that comment a LOT)
Ms Toast Burner ... shall I send you a new toaster with heat control color slide technologies?
Connie - I might have a panic attack in a balloon. I love to fly, but freak out on a balcony over 20 stories high. Go figure!
PRKL: It was very surreal. I think the pilot was a novice because he was still "burning" at the end when the balloon overshot into a back yard. For a moment I was sure it was going right into the house!
As it floated be the tee box on the next hole it was withing grabbing distance, and I hit my drive just beneath it.
Hi Girl Interrupted! You are also a good movie with hot chicks.
Lady Banana - you leave comments like tweets on twitter.
Ha haaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!1
Roentarre: say what???
he heee
Bryan .... well, THAT was crossing the line!
Ha haaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!
(a birdie is a birdie though)
Carletta - you are very welcome!
((smile))
thanks for stopping by to visit, nice photo... golf and balloons..
Thanks for stopping by and yes, I did do it, but we are supposed to do it that way!!
that is a crazy photo! i'm so glad you got that on film. not one your everyday situation.
We are starting to get ready to leave for home...poor hubby is laying tile while his friends are out golfing...I am so mean but we have been here since January.
I wish I could help but all he does is bark at me....
Wow! it's a rock and roll! My hubby loves this very much! Thanks for sharing I will let him see later..
About golf suit, sure you can have it there in shopwiki, they have lots for you to choose. Btw, thanks for the comment lately.
Have a great day. muahhugs
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Cute story!
I scrolled down thru your post. You have beautiful pictures! Love the header as well.
So, how much longer do you have to wait to play gold this year? I'm sensing some anticipation!!! :)
I guess this just goes to show that the truth can be stranger than fiction (though not usually stranger than YOUR fiction ... funny as it is!) :)
I suppose it is possible that a Tiger shot could have hit the balloon. Great picture and story. I once made a 27 on a pitch and put par 3. That was the end of my golf. This is my first mellow yellow monday.
GOLF not GOLD. OOOPS! :)
Although, it WAS mellow yellow monday and gold is yellow and who WOULDN'T want some to play with...
Maybe it was freudian. :)
Ah, nice mellow yellow post, Speedy. I know that golfing is your ultimate mellow zone. ;) Cool balloon too!
I went to a hot air balloon lift-off one time. There was a huge field of hot air balloons all lifting off at once. It was so neat to see. Very peaceful too.
No NewsGator.....you know a RSs reader...Hi Eric:)
Nice gams Speedy. Woo Hoo! :)
