Facebook Brown Rihanna Afghanistan goes to the Mardi Gras

Facebook scam
Sometimes what we internet junkies do becomes big news. A blog wrote about the new Facebook policy of keeping all records from users even after they QUIT Facebook, and the news media goes mad. I saw the story on the local and national news. Check out "Facebook's Privacy Flap: What Really Went Down" , and "Facebook reverses course on privacy policy". Here is the thing, if you use your real identity EVER anywhere on the net, you are crazy. Just don't do it. We could go on all day about copy writes, personal privacy issues, and how we all "OWN" what we write on our blogs and other media sources, but truth is once you hit enter, your content is everywhere and recorded by much more than Google or Facebook. Think you have a private blog that is not searched by bots?? Think again. I could publish something, erase or alter it, but feeds and readers will have already captured every word. FOREVER. There is not privacy on the net, and there never was. I will say again ..... do not use your real identity or true address anywhere - anytime.

Chris Brown and Will Smith kiss assesThat leads me to the next story perfectly! Chris Brown has the hot seat in the tabloids and news pages all over the world. A Martial Arts Expert has even challenged Chris Brown to a fight. This is both ridiculous and somehow interesting enough for others to join in. There is a list of MORE people that want to fight brown on Facebook. Sound like a made up story? Check this out !! ... " The Facebook Fight Challenge. " While Rihanna is 'torn' over helping police , the Chris Brown Beating of a pop star is still making waves. Did anyone else find it odd that many music celebs support Chris Brown?? Does he really deserve to be wrapped in a baby blanket of compassion? What if Rihanna was their sister?? Would that change the acceptance level?

Obama Stimulus Lie PackageOf course the biggest news is all Obama all the time. The Stimulus bill was packed with goodies that most people are completely unaware of. I have been to many blogs where the reader believes that they will be getting big checks in the mail! The president seems to have so much support that the public is willing to turn a blind eye on what is actually happening. ACORN will be a direct recipient of government stimulus funds. Does anyone care about that? We have reached a point in our nation’s history where, sooner than we may believe, other nations are going to seriously question whether they want to buy the Treasury notes we want to sell in order to borrow more and more trillions. Where did you think this money was coming from? Who will pay it back?
A spokesperson for the Chinese government put it quite succinctly, “We hate you.” The U.S. dollar will shortly begin to resemble Zimbabwean money which is utterly worthless. Big government has killed off free enterprise, and we are attempting to fix this with BIGGER government. WOW is all I have to say about that. You can tell me that you hate Bush and we need to give Obama a chance all you want, but the car is aimed at a cliff and the accelerator is now floored. The total U.S. obligations, including Social Security and Medicare benefits to be paid in the future, effectively has placed the U.S. government in bankruptcy. These obligations exceed four times the annual U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), and the amount is more than the entire GDP of the world. Golly ... good luck with that.

Sheriff Socialist Extreme ObamaOf course Obama was praised as he said the troops in Iraq must come home. Peace in the valley! Many believe that the threat of radical terrorism is just a made up ploy. More blindness? What will the peace activists say when Obama sends 17000 more troops to Afghanistan ? A US General sees new US troops in Afghan war by summer . Is this country the new focul point? For now the answer is YES. Is this change? War follows corruption. Afghanistan produces two-thirds of the world's heroin from poppies. More than 90 percent of it comes out of Helmand province where the Marines are headed. Am I condemning this action? Not really. I would like to hear the liberal viewpoint though. Is this war "OK" because Obama is at the helm? Will everything Obama does be OK with his followers, no matter what? Here is the best one ... "DID Afghanistan have weapons of mass destruction"? hmmmmmm
I am sure this portion of my MEGA post will be very unpopular, but I have read all of your "I love Obama" posts, and wanted to stab a fork in my eyes. You will survive this, just as I did. It is ok to write about my concerns too, right??

Mardi Gras crazy people On to lighter subjects .... the Grand Mardi Gras Parade is here, and the troubles of the world seem to dissappear for a while as loonatics and the temporarily insane go for broke. This sounds like something where a Speedcat like me could stand out as normal. I will not be attending this year, but my friend Doctor Shoal has a new and fresh report here: "Doctor Shoal Takes a Vacation at Mardi Gras" Be forewarned that the Doctor Shoal Blog does not have the strict "wholesome" guidlines like the Speedcat Hollydale Page. Make sure no one under 18 is in the room!
Hanging With The Veet In Mobile, Alabama is also a great live footage Mardi Gras post from Olga the Traveling Bra. OYE OYE !!!!

I'm so with you on all this Speedy. So with you. There are so many sites that I don't go to anymore. I can't take the messiah worship. They have no clue. None.

Very well written Speedy. Yes, you have just as much right to voice your opinion as everyone else.

Have a terrific day. Big hug honey. :)

YHEA !!!!!!!!! Thanks Sandee, you are the greatest :-)

OK Speedy... I'm now madly in love with you and will stalk you like that chick on 'two and a half men'.

Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but since I wrote (prior to the election) begging Americans to see that this Obama worship is unmerited and dangerous, I've noticed some people who used to think me a good read, don't like me much anymore.

So I am here to say KUDOS to you for having the guts to say what you really think amid a sea of (sometimes) blinded Obama worshippers.

If you want to read what I wrote, you can find it by going to Fraccers and searching Obama. I won't link 'cause that wasn't the point of my comment.

well said, speedy! i admit, i freaked out when i heard about the Facebook issue but hey, it's my fault i uploaded and posted things on the internet. it's practically their property whether you like it or not.

cheers!

Speedcat Hollydale said...

First off ... I love that chick on two and a half men!!!

Crude show, VERY FUNNY

I have been walking on tip toes for a long time, and have bit my tongue over and over and over regaurding the Obama worship posts. While I am not a political blogger, and have no intent to be one, this subject has been just dying to come out of me.

I am not looking to argue nor create anger, just that I needed to voice my opinion on my own blog and not elsewhere. I caught myself unloading a few times ... and that is not really what I want to do.

So - here it is for what it's worth. I did not stop following blogs that preach Obama is great, and my hope is that this will not make my own readers upset.

Be right over!!

... and thx :-)

Ranran!!

First, I do not think it is right to have privacy issues waved upon unknowing users, but it is just fact in the new and powerful internet as it gathers information for all aspects ... commercial and governmental.

Be careful !!!

Thanks for the comment :)

Great, informative post, Speedy.

You spoke your mind and no one should be upset with your opinion because we are ALL entitled to have one. It's not like you were trying to shove anything down someone's throat. And we all can't agree on each and every single thing, right?

Speed on!

I think we're screwed and I just want to bury my head in the sand and wait for those dudes on the white horses that signal the end of mankind. That or a nice hot cup of chocolate loaded with baileys.

As much as I agree that U have the right to publish your concerns about Obama, I have learned the hard way that Obama worshippers do not want hear any objective point of view or read Obama's record.

It is amazing how our local T.V. news media is finally stepping up to the plate and televising the facts about Obama Stimulus plan. The news must have sleeping before the election of Indecision 2008.

Awake In Rochester said...

Speedy Speaks! *Clap, Clap* It's good to hear you speak your mind, even if I don't agree with some of it. ;) You should do this at lest once a week!

As for me I'm against war. I don't care where it is. I'm against it period. Killing each other is such a bad idea. lol

But there is something I don't understand about the economy. They say that WW2 pulled us out of the Great Depression. Well, why aren't our wars (Iraq & Afghanistan) doing the same? War doesn't seem to have the same positive effect upon the economy. Is that due to outsourcing? Don't get me wrong, I still don't want war even if it could pull us out of this mess.

Mardi Gras now? Where's the bus? Gosh, I could really use a vacation! I worry every single day about $. I need to get away.

Now excuse me while I get back to kiss Obama's shoes. lol

I was completely against the stimulus crap. I am still against it. I am disheartened and upset. I did not want the government to interfere in my life. I did not want them to interfere with the banks or the auto makers or anybody else. Let them FAIL, that's how they learn. If you don't let the children fail they will never learn. Well, the biggest children of our country have failed, and we will all suffer for it.

To say I am livid is an understatement.

And I don't give a frak about celebrities these days. They are as worthless as the government in my head. Okay, so there are a few I look up to, like YOU, hehe. But the number is so small I could fit them all comfortably in my small house for dinner.

Number two: Dang I am naive. How is it that other people (you) know so much about what is going on, and the finances of this world, and facebook keeping our private info and readers/bots scanning for our stuff and then saving it and I KNOW NOTHING?

I am WAY too uninformed and I really and truly wish you would have a weekly serious post so we can all learn something from you.

You're just so dang smart ... and I am just so dang uninformed.

Rats! Bots are reading this and now they know who to brainwash more!!! I wonder if my full name is in my profile? I don't think so ... but if not ... how did the opposing counsel's attorney FIND MY BLOG!?!?!? And use it against us in court!?!?!?

Sigh. It's useless.

Let's all go build cabins in the woods with no reliance on anything but ourselves so we'll all be ready for the collapse of the United States. Hopefully it's rebuilt into something better if it goes, though, huh? We can always hope.

Thanks again Speedy.

Regarding the political issues. I have noticed that a lot of Americans take politics to a whole different level than most English people. We generally don't get up tight if someone has a different political stance. It's an 'Each to his own' thing, and it's not generally discussed either.

It seems sad that some people should fall out over politics.

coltfan said...

very great post speedy. this country needs an enema big time,If our government don't get a clue soon ,We will be a third world nation.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Coltfan ... I "think" that we all agree the government has become a waste dump for over-spending, on both the right and left.
We all agree that the economy is killing the working guy too. It's just the "how and why" we landed here that is in dispute.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Beetle ... that is a great statement, and I do not wish to cause a rift between myself and anyone I know in real life, nor in the blogosphere.
To me it was just overpowering how many blogs were preaching the glory of Obama, not just US bloggers ... but everywhere. The hate people had for Bush seemed to be a conduit for an "anything is better" attitude. I, and many others feel that what is, and was wrong with out own policies has now just been amplified. The change is more government, more spending, less freedoms. The very things that have crushed our markets. It is important to note that as American markets shrink, the entire planet is affected. This is not a US situation only.

Summary?? People are divided as this crunch has destroyed many lives, people are out of work, businesses are going bankrupt by the thousands. The disaggrement is in how this happened, and how to fix it. Politics as they were in the past have come to a new level of seriousness, and I am one of those being crushed by slow commerce.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Real life lesbian .... EVEN if the stimulus (yet another one) causes markets to rebound, the debt we have accumulated has become too great to ever pay off. Reading the statistics in this post gives an example of how completely non logical this whole thing is.

How is it that some feel blowning more air into a balloon ready to explode is sensible??

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Moneypenny ... yes, I know. This post was probably more of an outlet for myself, and to say on my own blog instead of comments that not everyone thinks Obama is the savior of all things.
Sounds like I am exaggerating?? I could link hundreds of posts where the blog writer has made Obama appear as the Greatest man to ever live .... and they still do not know his real intentions. Are they basing their love of him for his past and actual record, or for the bubble gum smiles and lies of the campaign??

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Millions of OUR dollars are going to General Motors and filtered out of the country to plants with not one US worker. Great plan, huh??

Speedcat Hollydale said...

AIR! Thanks for your comment.

First of all, what part of my post do you dissagree with. Many liberals will follow their favored polititians while completely unaware of their policies. I have found the less people understand how and why the housing bubble was created, the more apt they are to believe in liberal ideals.
To understand the fix to our economic disaster, we must understand the complex group of scenarios to produce false values. People loved as their housing and property values increased, and used this to re-finance, and run massive market schemes to take advantage of the soaring market craze.
Markets will always balance though. This is why many of us knew and forewarned of the impending crash.

Government was a pure and driven force in creating the bubble by conually dropping interest rates, creating goverment gaurunteed loans, and by pressuring mortgage companies to lend to subprime candidates. Many were easily brought into mortgages they could never afford in the first place by interest only payment plans that only work if housing values continue to increase. Of course, sooner or later the market is drowned. As prices came back to actual value the crash was like a domino effect, and banking went down with it.

Why were so many bankers redily buying up garbage loans????

BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT GAURANTEED THEM !!!!!

These are reasons why government intervention does not work. We are continuing down the same failed path of the past, but no on a much grander scale.

WW II was different in almost every way than Iraq.

1. The country was unified, and patriotism was at an all time high

2. Yes, the products, munitions, guns, uniforms, etc etc were all American made for the most part.

3. Unemployed workers were taking positions in the military to a great extent. This is not the case in our current occupations

4. The last depression was fueled mainly by stock markets crashing. The current reccession is fueled by false values explained in my statements above.

The last dirty trick they played on me was having my mother's vote stolen last election.

Acorn is a criminal gang and nothing more.

I don't hate Bush or Obama. Power hungry men just can't get to the top of the mountain without Pay for Play.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Hi Robert!

You know, to each his/her own regarding privacy issues and using your real name, but I think some are unaware of the internets power.
An employer could be searching "YOU" 5 to 10 years from now and find somethingb they did not like.

As far as political mountain climbers, you are point ON. Unfortunately there are changes that could be made in our system to combat this, but will never be passed because the dog will not take away food from it's own bowl.

Hate is a strong word, and I am not trying to portray that, but I am very disillusioned by the public's acceptance of more market killing actions. The stimulous will further false values, and they are ALWAYS doomed to fall back to previous levels ... just with more and more debt. We are burried in a huge hole and still digging.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

... and yes, ACORN is a criminal gang !!!!

Mimi Lenox said...

This is a great post, Speedy, in many respects. First of all, I love it when you speak your mind (I've said that before) and hope you do it more often. The blogosphere became so divided during the election process....an unfortunate consequence. I couldn't stand to see folks breaking friendships over politics, but it happened.

I do have hope that the new administration can begin to fix many of the problems they inherited - I would have had that hope no matter who won the election - why would I want them to fail? It's our future, our lives, our childrens' and grandchildrens' lives. I want them to succeed....not because I "hated Bush" and "loved Obama" but because I have a vested interest, as we all do. I'm sure you've seen and read liberal sites full of intolerance for opposing views. I've seen just as many conservative writers with the same attitudes. I believe there are varying degrees of liberalism and conservatism. It is not always black and white. You can't label everyone negatively because of the actions of a few knuckle-heads who can't seem to muster up respect difference of opinion. This is America. We are blessed with the freedom to express our views without regret. There ARE Democrats who don't swallow everything this administration puts forth as "gospel" and question and analyze the very issues you've put forth here. We are not all being blindly led as fools.....and although I support my President, I do not consider myself an Obama "worshipper". Worship is for God, not a man.

I, too, am worried about the Stimulus Bill...ANY measure that borrows that kind of money over and over to bail out one failing enterprise after another...It has to stop somewhere. We cannot pay for it. The first bail out shouldn't have happened in my opinion. It was wasted. We're all worried about our jobs.....concerned about our aging parents and their Social Security checks and our grandkids future world. I agree with you on that point.

It makes me sad that people are beginning to leave blog friendships behind because of something they read. I have many friends in the blogosphere - especially in the peace globe movement - who hold many different views; sometimes I don't agree with what I read but I always learn something and it gives me pause to think about the other sides' ideas and viewpoints. But it isn't my place or my desire to stir up trouble in their comment boxes or disrespect their forums. It is THEIR blog and they can say what they want. If I don't agree, I usually say nothing and comment about something else. Why do we think we all have to agree on everything to get along? I can have respect for the person even if I don't agree with their politics. I have witnessed a lot of discord and ugliness on both sides. But conversely, I have also witnessed a great deal of unity through the peace globe movement EVEN at a time in our country when it would have been easier to remain divided on that one day in November. But we did not. Our globes - red, white, Liberal and Democrat - are in the same gallery flying side-by-side.
That is the message and the point.

My hope is that dialogue begins (as it has here...thank you!) and that we can do so with an air of respect for each other. In the beginning of peace globes in 2006, we had that kind of community because we were full of hope and wanted a change. We realized our commonalities and embraced it. As time marched on and the election drew nearer....focuses shifted and divisions occurred. My hope is that we can take that feeling of hope off the blog page for more than just one day.
Is that naive?
I don't think so.
How can a hope be limited?

Afghanistan: I don't want a war there either. War is war is war. What right-minded person wants a war? Even if you believe that military involvement is necessary to stabilize a country, I ask again, what right-minded person WANTS violence? I don't believe our truest selves want war.

I hate that this has become Obama-mania vs. Everything Else. The hype clouds the issues that need to be dealt with. I sent my peace globe (as did others) to the White House with a letter. I would have done the same no matter who was in the White House because I think it's my obligation, privilege and right to take my concerns to my elected officials. President Obama made it easy to do so and I appreciate the feeling of an open-door policy in this administration.

Having said that, it is EARLY in the game and there is so much to be done. We shall see. The divisions in Congress over the latest financial issues don't leave much room for across-the-aisle bartering. Our President has his work cut out for him. I am going to put every ounce of belief and hope I have, not in one man, but in us as a people - and yes, as a community of bloggers as well.

I hope you receive this in the spirit it was intended. I respect and admire the courage it took to write this post. It is what I love MOST about our blogging selves: the right to speak out and the opportunity it brings to voice our brilliance. Our uniqueness.

You did it well.

Mimi Lenox said...

P.S. I'm sorry I wrote a post in your comment box! Pencil Skirt humbly begs your forgiveness...

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Mimi ... THANK YOU.

It was my HOPE that this type of talk would gather steam, and not the same old hashed up sayings.

First of all, I know we all want things to work out in our country. I am victom to this economy more than anyone. My industry has been crushed.

What I find confusing is that Obama supporters never have a real opinion of why this economic mess landed here and what is the best way out. They say a lot of work needs to be done over and over, but "what kind of work".

During the election people warned that all Obama wanted to do was spend spend spend. He laughed on camera during a debate. How is spending more and more going to fix anything. I hope you read my previous comments on my own beliefs and thoughts on economics. As a free market thinker, I have not had a candidate in years, because people vote for what they can get out of government now instead of creating a world the efforts can be rewarded. The American dream is alive in Rock stars Rappers, Movie Stars, etc etc. There are more people that are living off the system now than ever.
Politics has become more than I am a conservative or a liberal, it has become the possible execution of the American dream. People are afraid, and see loosing personal rights and liberties, loosing the ability to start a business and survive. Things that made our country great are disappearing one by one.

I don't think we can compare politics of old to this new era of world economies wars and massive debts to not so tolorent nations. I fear this will be our demise. I watch with massive concern while others cheer like it was a parade. That is very un-nerving to me.

Thank you also for taking a look at this post and answering my question about Afghanistan. Everyone else skated around that, did you notice??

I am the most peaceful man you will ever meet. I too believe in God and the creator as being the ONLY true power. With that, I also believe in end times, and what it takes for world control to take place. The wheels are turning in that direction quickly. China will call in it's treasury bonds, the armed forces of radicals will attempt to overpower us. They are here in our own country invited. I would love more than anything to call back every person in our armed forces, but there is a huge and mounting war on the way. Countries gaining nuclear capabilities are screaming out death to America, and wish anyone not converting to their own belief system to be killed. The world has been hostile since the beginning, and even in the Bible. We have had freedoms to pray or not to pray only because of men and women before us that gave their lives for US to have the priveliges we do have. In fact, the way we are talking now is a gift from those that fell in the name of freedom. I do not think it is as easy as isolationism. I wish it was ... I honestly do.

Summary: I think we are all tense. Some have not yet felt the real power of this depression yet as I have. The future is so important, as we are at a crossroads like man has never sen before.
