Dona Nobis Pacem

Dona Nobis Pacem is a vast and worldwide movement that bloggers of all religions, races, and nationality's connect and show there support to peaceful solutions in an ever changing world. The event takes place today, November 6th 2008.
I join this movement as someone who believes that Peace and Freedom are intertwined. I do not believe that peace can be attained by weakness, nor that what liberties we have left are to be taken for granted.
I join this movement in the hopes that peace can be achieved with a common thread of unity, not division. Love, not hate.
Without connecting freedom and democracy ... the voice of our people could not be heard. Today, we are united and connected with a loud voice. One that I hold dearly and proudly.

You can still join hundreds of bloggers by going to the home of this movement HERE at Mimi Writes .

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Hi Beetle! Me too.

Research the "Fairness Doctrine"

These new policies will be the first wave of attacks on personal freedom of speech.

I was JUST talking about the Fairness Doctrine and then I came over here and saw your post!!! I am SO glad you are posting about it. Everyone needs to know. THANK YOU for taking the time to do it.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Chris .. SO TRUE!!!

There will be a flurry of freedoms under attack now. Most people are vastly unaware of liberal agendas.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Your new scroll box IS recognized Jackie!

Looks great ... I was going to do the same, but then was distracted. So unlike me, right?

Ha haaa!!!!

Speedy....why did you make me eat all that dang chocolate? Now I am having candy-remorse!

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Candy remorse??? Ohhh golly

You will "prolly" burn that off by midnight, ya goof!

smooooooooooootch

Olga, the Traveling Bra said...

YOU callin' ME a GOOF!?!?

Well!

...it's about time!!!! :)

(I'ma thinkin' about just ONE more little bitty Snickers bar anyway...)

Olga, the Traveling Bra said...

If I can convince my son to tell me where he hid the candy....(I made him hide the bag from me....dammit!)

Bobby said...

What if the government just gags everyone by law? That alone will eradicate all verbal arguments...LOL!

Well Eric, I will wait until Obama and the democratic congress actually does something before I rip them apart. I will give Obama a chance! If the fairness doctrine is proposed in a real bill, we can start a powerful Internet movement based on calling congress and the white house along with thousands of blog articles.

I am hoping he runs a centrist presidency!

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Bobby ... you are right. The election is over and it's time to get back to basics.

Coming over to see your post!!

Peace and hugs to you, Speedy! May you never be silenced.

Daisy said...

Morning, Speedy. :-) Sorry I couldn't stay and chat with you last night. I'm glad you liked the song. That was Elvis Costello. Not to be confused with Elvis Presley who also sang about peace.

Anyway, young son was standing at my elbow while I was on the computer last night saying every three seconds or so, "Mo-o-o-o-om, are you ever going to get off the computer? I have to talk to my friends!!" (he manages somehow to make Mom into a word with numerous syllables!!).

By "his friends," he means his girlfriend was waiting to talk to him online. Well, far be it from me to stand in the way of young love you know. ;)

So I figured I would just leave a quick comment on your post and then get off and let him have the computer.

I hope you have a great weekend. :)

Lovely thoughts and image on your Peace Globe and inspiring message in your post! Thich Nhat Hanh teaches that ‘Peace is in every step’ … a choice in every instant no matter what’s happening around or within us. As each of us blogs for peace today, we join our minds and hearts together to create this reality in our world.
Hugs and blessings

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Storyteller ... excellent comment!!

Thanks for stopping in :-)

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Daisy ... that was a beautiful song!!!

I am glad EVERYTIME you visit, and certainly understand not always being able to stay around. Talking about your son's girlfriend reminds me of what it was like to be a young man "smitten". It was like my heart was jumping right out of my body!!!
I still remember a short kiss when I was 14 from a girl I was crazy about.

I must have smiled for about a week, and thought I was going to marry her. She of course, did not.

ha haaaaa!!!!!!! Ohhh to be young again.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Daisy Cat ... you always seem to comment next to Daisy "flower".

I was affected in a very GOOD way by participating in the Peace Globe blogging wave. I think that all the friends I have met on line are good, decent, caring people. Even after seeing some disagreements on just how we achieve a better world and policies of "peace" ... this movement reinforces the notion that in fact we are all together in the GOAL if peace.

It was calming, and yes ... peaceful in every way.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Kim ... and peace to you my great friend from across the ocean. As far as we are in miles ... are connection remains strong.

Plus, we have a date in 2077!!!

((smile))
