  • My blog was found to have used the word "pooped"
  • The picture at right is Wrinkleskins. The "little woman" Hollydale set this one up :-) Wrinkles loves to go wherever we go, including golf. Her favorite food is chicken, and only wears hats for short durations.
  • Hello to Johann the Dog readers, please drop a note if you were hot-linked from that site. Thanks!!

Now I'm in Delafield Wisconsin. I have a decent room and a Walmart across the street. Yhaaaahheee!! If you can't find what you need at the Wally, well you just can't find it.

This is picture is where I am right now. Only problem? It's 98 degrees in here....anyway, I'm off to find some dinner. No, not at Walmart.

Planet X and the Viralinkers

Nasa reported today that the big face on Mars opened it's mouth and said, "I am hungry".
I can see how this could be true, as there is nothing on the planet to eat, except sand. I would reason that the big face, (I call him Dan), is thirsty also. Forget about the space station for awhile, we need to get rations to Hungry Dan.
I think he would like chicken! If you have an idea for a beverage, let me know.
Added to this post is yet another virallinking thinggy.
I do not mind linking to anyone, and never get flustered when others listed do not link back....HOWEVER, I will hope that the "good" people listed here will return the favor.
To join the crusade, just add yourself, copy / paste, and then ask to be included in the matrix of the links listed here. Simple!

Me at work...I'm in Wisconsin until Sunday.
The hat is not my own - I just had to try it on. Something about a hat that's irresistible.
I am at the hotel computer right now, so a quick post and I'm gone! Hard to say what the rest of the week will bring, so hang tight with all tags and links.
If you can name this picture, be sure and comment. The best "picture title" will receive a box of HOT TAMALES candy!!!!

Random Yickety Yackady at www.speedcathollydale.blogspot.com

When I started this blog last year, I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I was new to using computers, and had trouble learning the in's & outs of http://blogger.com/ I was leery of what would happen being exposed out in the internet, and expected some unwelcome visitors.
So far, this experiment has been nothing but fun. I have met people across the globe, kept in touch with people that I normally do not see, and have found that HTML code is not as mysterious as one might think. Sharing small tid bits of my life has opened up my mind a little, and has become one of my favorite hobbies.
I love to hear from readers, and to exchange an idea or two. As always, "Thanks for stopping by!" :-)

That Cloud Looks Like Theodore Cleaver, Larry

While typing away on the computer after work today, I couldn't help looking out the sliding glass doors, noticing the cloud formations. Two sets of storms rolled through to the North and South of my location. I did not get a drop of rain, but just a 20 minute drive away there was golf ball sized hail, and tornado watches. Here are a few of the pictures I snapped....

Dreams in the Mind of a Stressed Out Hollydale

Last night, I had a dream that my hair was growing really fast, and white!
I have no idea what this may mean, but I am sure that a psychoanalyst would have a good time with this one.
I decided to recreate my dream for you here at the S.C.H.P.

Chicken Pie Pots in a Kettle w/Silverspoon

Today for dinner, I had a chicken pot pie. As much as I like chicken, it just did not make the cut. I am still hungry.
I think that a chicken pot pie box should read "appetizer" on the front.

Windmills Can Produce Needed Electrical Power

I was pulling into the local "Kwik Trip Mart" today, and I heard someone sceaming, "Hey Speedcat!" I could not see who it was, but I could tell it was a Mr. Windmill Bob. I dialed him up and said, "Was that you?", and before I knew it, he was pulling up beside me. We yacked about hoo haa for a while, and I snapped this picture.
Bob is often seen driving down the Interstate yelling, "WoW!!!"

BIG SUNDAY in a Hurricane

< Missed birdie

Ok, first of all, it's hard to play in 30 mph winds....with that said - we did pretty well. I took a few hard positions off the tee, and managed to hit 2 trees on one hole! (I double bogeyed that one). Other than that, it was a great day on the links :-)

Fathers Day is one of my favorites. I get to hang around and be with my best friend! The person in life that I most admire and emulate is my dad. If I have picked up just some of his qualities, I will have become a better person.

Top 10 List for the Old Fart (Link?)

Nooo! Don't enlarge!!!!My Drama Dog List
Ed Padgett tagged me to do a Drama Cat list. After you read this, the 3 people that I am tagging will be named!

Ten Obscure Things You Never Wanted To Know About Me....
  • My feet and ankles are hideous (obviously)

  • I once drove in "reverse" in the drive through at Burger King. It caused confusion and chaos beyond belief! The guy behind me pulled out a shotgun, then the cops showed up. The parking lot was full of angry people screaming at me :-) I was 18 years old then.

  • A small fire I started as a kid ended up to be my folks entire back yard. We thought it was funny, my folks did NOT.

  • I have to wear a belt, or I feel naked.

  • I had the most rockin` 80's mullet ever. Someday I'll have to post a picture of it. Killer funny!

  • An excerpt from a dialog I had in a jail cell...."What are you in for?"..... "lying to a cop"...."what are you in for?"...."armed bank robbery" - and yes, I lied once.

  • I consider myself a decent cook, yet nobody will touch anything I make.

  • Now that I am older, I have to cut the hair growing out of my ears more often than my head. This one is scary, am I right?

  • I can have 200 pounds on my back, and climb stairs for 12 hours strait, but I can't get up to get the remote.

  • I had an extensive conversation with Ex - Governor of MN, Jessie Ventura in 1995. He owns illegal weapons and smoked weed in Amsterdam.

OK, here is the tough part. I know people with blogs, but I'm not sure who to tag. If anyone would like to volunteer for this, leave a comment of your post and I will link you here. Yah, I'm a chicken!

Megaforce Winds Knocken` Down my Door

Twista Mista Speedcat I have always been intrigued and fascinated by tornadoes and large storms. The closest I have ever come to one of these twisters was in Fridley MN. As I was driving North on Central Avenue, I saw the funnel lift back into the sky and disappear. A massive heavy rain immediately followed. This happened in 1985. (I was driving a 77 Monte Carlo then)

Recently when I was away with work, a storm hit in my area. They say that the damage caused was from heavy down drafts. The picture below was taken the end of May 2007.

There is channel 5 news - lower middle

As an odd but true tidbit, this is where I used to work. I miss my old job sooo bad...It's funny when I think back to those days. I never knew how good it was, and I would do anything to have it back. Unfortunately, the company does not exist any longer.

Minneapolis: Man Moves to a New House by Bike

Speedcat Burgundy's Couch! Yes, some people are more ambitious than others...and some are just plain go-getter's. A Minneapolis man moved everything he owned on bicycle trailers with the help of his friends. Being from this area, I had heard of his endeavor days ago. To my surprise - I just saw this story on the Fox News Channel! How this ended up to be so noteworthy is really a surprise. If I move by bicycle, will Fox cover my move? I am going to check into this one. Items left behind in the dumpster might be excessive on my relocation!

The Planet Just Flew Around the Sun Again!

Look who is one year old....no, not me, that cutie in the stroller. We went to her party yesterday, and watched all the presents get opened. Her own personal cake was eaten by hand, to the delight of everyone there. Did you ever notice how fast time goes by when you're not looking? It just seems to fly by.

Ohh yeah...These are GOOD!

.....Even at 40, you still get great stuff!

Wheeelie "Cat" in Hollydale Alive and Well

_____________________________________________________________
You never forget how to ride a bike! A blogger friend of mine, http://www.ruralpinoybiker.wordpress.com , thinks that Old Speedcat does not ride anymore....well here is proof that I can still handle the two wheeled wonder, and not crush the frame with my 220 pound body. - Maybe I was lucky!

I love to mountain bike around the lake by my place. Fun, healthy, and it makes you feel just a bit younger. (These photos were taken today after a ride through the trails in Coon Rapids, MN.)

Riverwood National Golf Course in Otsego

**************************************************************
Riverwood National in Otsego Reviewed by SpeedycatRiverwood National is a new course, in it's second season. My opinion of this layout is not yet quite formed. It has many blind shots, doglegs, and elevation changes that prohibit you from seeing your ball actually land. This course is also set up as a "target" course. It puts a premium on playing the correct yardage off of the tee. If you expect to grab your driver and smash the ball down the middle - you are at the wrong place!
Until I learn how to navigate my shots into the right position here, my days will be filled with turmoil. Many shots from the tee box looked perfect to me...only to run through the landing area and into watery graves. ANYTHING with the word grave in it, is not good!
I rate this course a soft 6 on the 1~10 scale. If you are looking for a mental test of golf, go to Riverwood. If you like to belt out large drives, stay clear :-)

If anything, this is a scenic course for being so young. Only a couple of holes are still in rough shape.

  • Score: 75
  • Longest drive: 360! (help from wind and elevation)
  • Longest birdie putt: None made? Yes, it's true.
  • Pars on card: 15

This was a great day to play golf, and the people at Riverwood National are fantastic. Worth a try!
